Pool, table tennis, mini golf and darts
Billiards is pool on a full six-pocket table seen from above, with 8-Ball and 9-Ball: aim with the ghost ball, set the power, and add draw, follow or side spin. Four computer rivals play at three levels each, and 100 Trick Shots of banks, kicks and combinations wait when you want to practise. Table Tennis is seen from behind your own end: the paddle meets the ball by itself and your swipe decides the shot, a slow touch for backspin, a fast flick for topspin, a smash on a high ball. The real scoring is used, with games to 11 won by two clear points.
Mini Golf has 54 hand-made holes on six courses, where the ball bends on slopes, slows in sand, slides on ice and rides paddle wheels and ramps. Darts plays 501, 301, Cricket and Around the Clock: hold to aim, flick to throw, and finish 501 on a double. All four can be played online, against a new opponent or a friend you invite with a link, and Darts also has a two-player mode on one phone.
Basketball, cars and motorbikes
Basketball is an arcade shooting game: flick the ball at the hoop in a 60-second round, make shots in a row to charge the ball for double and then triple points, and sink a swish for 3. Its 45 challenges bring a moving hoop, wind and a defender's hand. Racing is a top-down car racing game on 16 tracks: three laps against five rivals, drifts that fill your boost, and dirt shortcuts for the brave. In a time trial you race your own best lap, shown as a ghost car. Moto Rush is seen from the saddle of a motorbike: three routes through a city, a seafront at sunset, a centre by day and a neon night, against five riders. You lean with the bends, save nitro for the straights and pass the traffic close to fill it again. Play Online and Race a friend put up to six people in one race.
Real physics, simple controls
These games are about feel. The balls in Billiards and Mini Golf roll, spin and bounce off cushions and rails with real physics, and in Basketball the ball rattles round the rim before it drops. Every shot is one gesture on a phone, a swipe, a pull-back or a flick, and on a computer the mouse does the same; Mini Golf, Darts and Racing also take the arrow keys.
A challenge every day
Five of the eight have a daily challenge. In Billiards the Rack Run gives everyone the same ten balls to clear in as few shots as possible, Mini Golf has a Daily hole, Racing a Daily trial with one track and one car, and Basketball and Darts a new challenge each day. For the rules of pool, fouls and five tips, read our 8-ball and 9-ball guide. Our guides also cover darts checkouts, table tennis rules and mini golf. More games to play head to head are on the two-player games page, and the rules of all our games are in the game guides.
