Our motorbike racing game

You ride a sport bike through a city, seen from the saddle: the fairing and the speed screen in front of you, your gloves on the bars, the road rushing at you. Six riders start each race, and the first across the finish line wins. Cars and vans share the road.

Pick one of three routes on the home screen: Harbor Run, 3.2 km of seafront straights and a red arch bridge at sunset; Civic Circuit, 3.8 km of glass towers and long bends by day; and After Hours, 3.4 km of neon signs and lit windows on a wet road at night. A race takes about a minute. Then choose your rivals: Rookie, Sport or Expert.

How to ride

• Steer: drag anywhere on the screen, or hold the arrow buttons at the bottom left. The bike leans into the turn and carries its momentum, so steer early.
• Speed: the bike accelerates by itself up to 205 km/h. Hold BRAKE to squeeze through a gap.
• Nitro: hold NITRO for a burst up to 259 km/h. Let go and the tank refills.
• Keyboard: A and D or the left and right arrows steer, S or the down arrow brakes, Space or Shift fires the nitro, and Esc or P pauses. You can also drag with the mouse.

Pass a car close at speed for a close call, which tops up your nitro. Tuck in right behind another rider to ride in the slipstream: a little extra speed and nitro. Hit a car and you lose your speed. Racing alone, you start at the back of the grid.

Race with friends online

1. Choose a route, then tap Race a friend and type the name your friends will see.
2. Tap Create the invite. Your race gets a code of five letters and numbers.
3. Send it with Share invite, Copy link or WhatsApp. Up to five friends tap the link and join from their own phone or computer, or type the code under Have a code?.
4. When you are ready, tap Start now. Open places on the grid are given riders, so a race always has six.

Everyone rides the same race at the same moment. If a friend leaves in the middle, their bike rides on to the finish. Afterwards, Rematch starts the next race once you all tap it. Play Online looks for other riders who want a race right now; when nobody else is looking, the open places are ridden by computer riders, so you never wait long. Tips

• Save the nitro for a long straight with open road ahead: a crash at 259 km/h costs more than it gains.
• Close calls refill the tank, so a run of cars passed tight keeps the nitro coming.
• Line up the next gap before you reach it. The lean takes a moment to swing back.

Is Moto Rush free? Yes. Your first race is a free warm-up, and after that a race costs 40 play coins from your AllFun coins. Every finishing place pays coins back, up to 95 for a win against Expert rivals. Play coins are not money.

Can I stop in the middle? Pause any time: a race on your own is saved and waits for you. An online race goes on while you are away.

How many people can race together? Up to six, you and five friends, in a race you start with Race a friend.

Does it work on a computer? Yes, in any modern browser, on a phone, a tablet or a computer, upright or sideways, with no download.
