Why these twelve
These are the first twelve games on our home page, in the same order. They are there because they are some of the kinds of game people around the world play most, made our own way. A bubble shooter, a triple tile match and a match 3 puzzle are among the most played games on phones; pool and solitaire have been favourites for generations; pinball and air hockey are the arcade tables everyone remembers. Next to them sit ideas of our own: the screw puzzle Tinker Tumble, the swinging hook of Fishing and our newest race, Moto Rush. When the home page changes, this page changes with it.
Two minutes or a whole evening
Short on time? A round of Blocks on its 8×8 board, a rack of 8-Ball in Lamplight Billiards, ten questions of Trivia or a match to five in Air Hockey each fit into a coffee break. Pinball is quick too: a neon galaxy table, missions to light up and your own high score to beat.
For a longer sit, there are levels to work through: 40 in Bubbles, 40 in Gems, 160 in Lagoon Lineup, 160 in Tinker Tumble and 40 in Fishing. Solitaire is classic Klondike with Draw 1 or Draw 3, and it can deal you only deals that can be won, so a lost game is never the cards' fault.
A daily in five of them
Lagoon Lineup and Tinker Tumble have a daily puzzle, Trivia a daily round of ten questions, Solitaire a daily deal and Lamplight Billiards a daily Rack Run: ten balls to clear in as few shots as you can. Each daily is the same for every player that day, so you can compare results with a friend, and it changes at midnight. More of them are on our daily games page.
Play them with a friend
Four of these games have Play Online and Play a friend, a link that opens your table in your friend's browser: Lamplight Billiards (8-Ball, and 9-Ball too with a friend), Fishing (two boats on one sea), Air Hockey (which also plays two people on one screen) and Moto Rush (a race for up to six riders). Every game for two is on our two player games page, and the games that joined the site most recently are on new games.
Questions and answers
How is this list chosen?
It is the top of our home page, which we order by how popular each kind of game is and by what we would like you to see first, such as a new game. It is not a chart of votes or ratings.
Which game should I try first?
Start at the top: Bubbles takes a few seconds to learn. If you like cards, try Solitaire; for a game with a friend, Lamplight Billiards.
Are these games free?
Yes. Puzzles and solitaire never need coins, and the arcade and sport games use free play coins: every new player gets 800, and you get more every day and for playing. Coins never have any cash value.
Do they work on a phone and on a computer?
Yes. Each one runs in your browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, with touch or a mouse, and your progress is saved as you play. Nothing to download, and no account needed.
