Our arena shooter
Cinderpoint is a first-person shooter made for short, sharp matches in the browser. Six runners drop into an arena, everyone for themselves: you and five computer runners. Eliminate a runner and you score; get caught and you are back three seconds later with a two-second shield. The first runner to 15 eliminations wins, or whoever leads when the 2:30 clock runs out.
The action is arcade, not grim. Hits show sparks and a bright flash, a spawn shield glows blue when it stops a round, and nobody bleeds.
How to play
- On a phone or tablet: the game plays sideways. The left stick moves you (push it all the way up to sprint). Drag anywhere on the right to look. Hold the big fire button to shoot; you can keep your thumb on it and drag to aim while firing. Smaller buttons aim down the sights, jump, crouch and reload.
- On a computer: click the arena to capture the mouse. W A S D moves, the mouse looks, the left button fires and the right button aims. Space jumps, Shift sprints, C or Ctrl crouches, R reloads, E picks up a weapon and Q swaps. Esc pauses.
- Accuracy: the first shots of a burst land tight and a long spray spreads out, so short bursts win fights. Aiming down the sights zooms in and steadies you; moving and jumping make you less accurate.
- Headshots hit harder, twice as hard with most weapons. The hitmarker turns gold when you land one.
Every eliminated runner drops the weapon they held, and it stays on the ground for 40 seconds. Walk up to it and tap the pickup prompt, or press E, to swap, or to take its ammo if you already carry the same gun.
Three arenas, five weapons
Kiln Yard is a brickworks at sunset built around a tall kiln chimney on a raised loading dock. Tideworks is a bright harbour foundry with a gantry crane, container stacks and piers on both sides. Aster Court is a city block at night with a monument, street lamps and four raised terraces. Each has stairs up to high ground and low walls to crouch behind.
The weapons each play differently: the balanced Rook carbine, the precise Flint sidearm, the fast Kestrel compact gun, the Morrow marksman rifle with a scope, and the Brim pump gun that fires eight pellets at close range. You pick a starting weapon and always carry a backup.
Tips
- Fire in bursts and let the aim settle between them; the crosshair opens up to show your real spread.
- Take the stairs. A raised deck gives you a view of the lanes, and its low walls give you cover.
- Watch the crosshair: a red arc around it shows where a hit came from.
- The bot level (Easy, Standard or Veteran) and the arena are on the Arena screen.

Questions
Is Cinderpoint free? Yes. Your first match is a free warm-up; after that a match uses 40 play coins, and every new player gets 800 coins to start. Coins are free and have no money value. How coins work.
Is it violent? It is a cartoon-style arcade shooter for teens and up: no blood, no gore, sparks and shields instead.
Does it work on a phone? Yes. It plays sideways in landscape with touch controls, and the graphics adjust to your device by themselves. You can choose them on the Arena screen too.
Can I change how my runner looks? Yes, on the Runner screen: four runners, three outfits, headwear and accessories. Looks never change stats.
