Our Spider solitaire
This is the classic two-deck patience: 104 cards, 54 of them dealt into ten piles and the rest waiting in the stock. Build runs down in order on the table; when a run of one suit from King to Ace is complete, it flies off by itself. Clear all eight runs and the deal is won. The score starts at 500, loses a point for every move and gains 100 for every finished run.
Drag the top card of a run to move it, or just tap a card and it goes to the best place it can. Tap the stock to deal a new row. Undo takes back anything, even a deal, as many times as you like. When the stock is empty and every card is face up, Finish plays the rest of the deal for you.
Spider solitaire 1 suit, 2 suits or 4 suits
- 1 suit (Easy): every card is a spade, so any run in order can move. The best way to learn the game.
- 2 suits (Medium): spades and hearts. A run only moves as a group while it stays in one suit, so you start to plan.
- 4 suits (Hard): the full challenge, with every suit in play. Good days are won with patience and empty piles.
On 1 and 2 suits, set Deals to Winnable and you only get deals our solver has won; Random deals anything. Four-suit deals are always random. The rules in full, with how the stock and scoring work, are in our guide to Spider solitaire rules. Tips for each level: play the 1-suit version, the 2-suit version or the 4-suit version.
The daily deal
Tap Daily deal to play today's deal, the same for everyone, for the number of suits you have chosen. Win it for a crown on the calendar, and win on days in a row for a streak.
Hints, statistics and card backs
Hint shows a good move; you get 3 free with every deal, and a free bonus gives more. Tap it again for the next idea in the same position. Statistics keeps your games, wins, win rate, best score, best time and streaks for each number of suits. In Themes, pick a card back and a table colour; more card backs unlock as you win, play daily deals and take on more suits.
Tips
- Build in one suit whenever you have the choice; mixed runs are easy to make and hard to move.
- Turn over face-down cards early: a move that shows a new card is usually worth more than one that tidies.
- Keep an empty pile empty until it really helps, and make every useful move before you deal.
