Our Klondike solitaire

This is the patience game most people simply call solitaire. Twenty-eight cards are dealt into seven piles with only the top card of each face up, and the other 24 wait in the stock. Build the piles down in alternating colours, red on black, and move every card to the four foundations, one suit each, from Ace up to King.

Tap a card and it jumps to the best place it can go, or drag it exactly where you want it. Tap the stock for new cards. Undo takes back any move, and once every card is face up the rest go home by themselves.

Draw 1 or Draw 3

On the home screen, pick Draw 1 to turn one card at a time from the stock, or Draw 3 to turn three, where only the top one can be played. Draw 1 is the relaxed way to play; Draw 3 hides more cards and rewards planning. Both allow unlimited passes through the stock, and your statistics and best times are kept apart for each. Play the Draw 3 version, with tips for the three-card stock.

Winnable deals

Not every Klondike deal can be won, however well you play. Set Deals to Winnable and you only get deals our solver has already won, so a lost game always had a better line in it. Random deals anything. Holding your phone in your left hand? Turn on Left-handed in Settings to move the stock and waste to the left.

The daily deal

Tap Daily deal for today's deal: one winnable Draw 1 deal, the same for everyone. Win it for a crown on the calendar and build a streak; the calendar also lets you go back to the days you missed. Since everyone gets the same cards, it is an easy way to race a friend on time and score.

Score, hints and card backs

A card moved to a foundation scores 10 points, a card from the waste to the piles 5, and every hidden card you turn over 5. Win a deal that took 30 seconds or more and a time bonus is added: the faster, the bigger. Hint shows a good next move, with 3 free in every deal. Statistics keeps your games, wins, win rate, best time, best score and streaks, and in Themes you pick a card back and a table colour; more unlock as you win, play daily deals and try Draw 3. Tips

Before you tap the stock, look for every move on the table: the stock comes round again, a buried card does not uncover itself.
When two cards could take the same spot, move the one that turns over a face-down card.
In Draw 3, playing one card from the waste changes which cards come up on the next pass.

Is this solitaire free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no download and no sign-up, and Solitaire never costs coins.

Is Klondike the same as solitaire?

Klondike is the game most people mean by solitaire. There are many other solitaire games; we also have Spider, FreeCell, TriPeaks and Pyramid.

Can every deal be won?

Not every random one. With Winnable deals, every deal you get has been won by our solver, and the daily deal is always winnable.

Is my game saved?

Yes, on your device as you play, so you can close the page and tap Continue later. With a free account your progress follows you to your other devices.
